I have now got a place at Thomas Rotherham College, and I am completing a health and social care course. My confidence has grown, and I feel that I would not have been able to achieve this without the support from my key worker at YWCA Yorkshire

YWCA believes that all young women have the right to live in a safe space , to be heard and given the opportunity to reach their full potential. We also believe that young mothers face unique challenges that require understanding and sensitivity.

Fleming Gardens in Rotherham has been offering housing related support, parenting and life skills training to hundreds of young women and their children since it first opened in 2004 .

The project was purpose built to a very high standard, and is staffed by a dedicated and specially trained team who are experienced, approachable and specialise in working with young parents and their children.

The Fleming Garden's project comprises of 17 houses, 10 within a  cul-de-sac location in Bramley and 7 dispersed throughout the local area. Staff provide one-2-one support, parenting advice and life skills training. If you know someone who could benefit from the services of Fleming Gardens, you can download our application form here

We also deliver advice and support to 120 young women and families across the Rotherham area as part of the councils Building Stronger Families Programme which aims to break down the barriers that some families face in society, and build them into successful, resilient families. We support families that have been affected by a range of issues including debt, housing issues, poor school attendance, and poor mental health.

We work in partnership with Rotherham Early Help Services to try and prevent the challenges being experienced by families from escalating into more serious concerns.

The Young Parents Tenancy Support project helps young parents in their own homes to gain the skills and confidence that they need to become effective parents and confident, independent individuals. Our work with young families typically includes budgeting, emotional well-being, parenting skills, the elimination of anti-social behaviour, neighbour disputes, and access to education and training for both parents and children. If you know of a family who would benefit from our service, why not have a chat with us on 01142 300901 To apply for assistance, please use this document
