It's only through your help that we can improve the lives of young women and children throughout Yorkshire. A one off donation can help us to support a young family moving into one of our centres. We've given some examples of what your money could be used for below.
A Gift of £5 pays for some of the small items that make life a little more comfortable for women who arrive at our projects with nothing. This includes essentials like toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap and sanitary products.
A Gift of £10 helps us to provide a basic food pack that ensures that vulnerable women and children don’t go hungry in the first few days after they arrive at our projects. We even help with nutritious recipe ideas and cookery classes.
Cool for School
A Gift of £30 pays for some of the items that children need in order to feel confident getting back into school. This includes items such as a new school uniform, PE kit, books, stationary and other essentials. It can also be used to pay for a school run 'buddy' to help children get to school.
Charity Shop Donations
YWCA Yorkshire has 2 thriving charity shops; one in Sheffield and one in Dinnington. We have a very fast turnover of stock and this is only possible due to the generous support of people in the local area. If you are having a clear out and would like to donate your old items to one of our shops we'd be very grateful. We can accept all sorts of stuff to sell in our charity shops. All the money we make is used to directly affect the lives of the young women, children and families who we support. A list of the types of items we need can be found below:
Small electrical appliances that are less than three years old
Shoes and handbags
CDs and DVDs
Children’s toys with CE label
We can pick up your items in the Sheffield, Rotherham and Dinnington areas. Please contact us using the form below.
