I feel I have accomplished a lot, and I have recently moved on from Green Gables and have my own housing association property. Things are looking good

In Doncaster we run a wide range of services making vital changes to the lives of families within the town. We believe that by assisting families at an early stage in their own homes we can produce significant results, and prevent problems further down the line.

Green Gables in Mexborough opened in 2004 in partnership with Together Housing with a remit to provide safe accommodation in 5 houses and eight self contained apartments on the Green Gables site.

Since 2010 we have been helping around 75 families at any one time with one-2-one support and training. We help build successful, resilient family units, sharing the knowledge and skills they need to live independently. Green Gables have also formed part of Doncaster’s Stronger Family Programme.

We can support families within their own home for up to 18 months, and 12 months if young parents live within our accommodation service. We can offer support to mothers, fathers, carers and grandparents who have dependent children. The staff team work in partnership with other professionals to provide a varied support package and can help with everything from debt and household management, to preparing for work.

Green Gables can accept applications for our accommodation service from young parents aged 16-25 years. Priority is given to those parents aged 16 to 18 years.
