Local charity YWCA Yorkshire has received a donation of £300 from Graeme Rayner, following a female-inspired comedy fundraiser.
Graeme is the founder of events management and promotions business, Gag 'N' Bone Man Comedy. Established in 2019, the business specialises in live comedy and variety events, including regular comedy nights in West Yorkshire venues and comedy festivals across the UK.
The money raised at a recent all-female stand-up Comedy Show, was presented to the charity team by Graeme at YWCA Yorkshire’s homeless women’s hostel Peile House in Sheffield. Peile House supports homeless women and girls aged 16 to 25 and their babies. The compassionate staff team provide a safe place to live and trauma-informed support so that women can recover and rebuild after experiencing homelessness, abuse, family breakdowns and poverty.
Graeme’s support for YWCA Yorkshire follows Volunteer Coordinator Nicole Cannon’s rise onto the comedy scene. Nicole, whose comedy stage name is Nicole Scott, has been working with Graeme over the last 6 months to realise a life-long ambition by becoming a stand-up comedian. Working with Nicole as a trainer, a mentor, and later as a promoter, Graeme wanted to show his support to YWCA Yorkshire, where Nicole has worked supporting vulnerable families and building an outstanding volunteer team for 15 years.
Inspired by the impact YWCA Yorkshire delivers to women, children and families across Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield, Graeme is now in talks with the charity’s new Fundraising Manager Sophie Barnett about a fundraising partnership throughout 2026. Graeme said: “It’s been my pleasure to donate this money today and I know all the comedians that gigged for us to help raise this cash were proud to be associated with such a great charity. There is so much more I know we can do to support YWCA Yorkshire, and we look forward to announcing the next phase of our partnership for the new year. There will be lots of laughs and lots of money raised!”
Gag 'N' Bone Man Comedy do a variety of charity work in the local area and further afield, including sponsoring local sports clubs, community projects and holiday clubs for vulnerable children. Previous charitable gigs have raised funds for Len Johnrose Trust, the Nipple Innovation Project (NIP), Andy's Man Club, local food banks and support for Ukraine.
