Run for Women

Would you like to challenge yourself to your limit and raise money for young women’s emergency accommodation centres throughout South Yorkshire? Then why not take part in the Sheffield Half Marathon for YWCA Yorkshire?

We’re starting a campaign called Run For Women, which encourages runners of all abilities to race under the banner of the YWCA in Yorkshire. We’re Yorkshire’s leading registered charity for the provision of accommodation and support to vulnerable young women, which includes our own housing service based right here in Sheffield.

A major event in the UK’s running calendar, the Sheffield Half Marathon on the 8th April 2018 attracts thousands of runners of all abilities and spectators to the city’s streets. The team from YWCA Yorkshire will also be on hand for that bit of extra encouragement across the line. With a city centre start and finish, the event boasts a super scenic route with stunning views of the Peak District for those who conquer the climb to Ringinglow.

We’re able to give free entry to the Half Marathon for those that achieve sponsorship of £200 for the charity. If you don’t think you’ll be able to raise that amount, we’d still love for you to run under our banner, but unfortunately we’re unable to cover your entry fee.

If you think this might be for you, or have any questions please don’t hesitate to email sam.dawkins@ywcayorkshire.org.uk and we’ll sort out the rest.
